has anyone here heard of a program called CyberScrub, and if so, what are your feelings on it (if any)?

Re: File Destruction Software
Fri, December 5, 2003 - 2:05 PMCyberscrub is probably the best scrub software you'll find. It has a nifty feature where it will take files from the recycle bin and scrub them off the HD, so you don't have to go through full-disk scrubs as often. Will also find all the various places that Windows stores data about web sites you visit (in the registry?! Go figure...), and scrub that too. Very customizeable, all sorts of useful features, and not particularly expensive.
I don't know anyone that's done a forensic analysis of a Cyber-scrubbed drive to see if it misses anything, but I might take that on as a project one day soon.. -

Re: File Destruction Software
Sun, December 7, 2003 - 2:49 AMRight on. Glad to see it's highly rated. I found a trialware (full function, 15 day limit) at www.net-security.org/ that I think I'll download and check it out against a couple of old HD's that I have. I'll get back to ya on the results.
Thanks for the review Mux, and welome to the tribe, btw. :)
